The Westfjords

The Westfjords of Iceland are found in the extreme North West of the country and include Icelands and Europes most westerly point, Látrabjarg as well as being made from the oldest geoglocal rock in the country.

The Westfjords is famous for its outstanding naturual power and beauty, with innumourous knife point fjords abandoned of human life for miles around being dominated over by dormant and silent mountains, while Arctic foxes, seals and birds run free, uninterupted in their paradise, as they have been for thousands of years.
Nowhere epitimises this better then the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, where turf houses were abandoned in the 1950´sand mother nature was left to reclaim what was rightfully hers. The Hornstrandir Nature Reserve is where we do our research on the wild foxes which roam free over the mountians and in the fields of wild flowers in higher numbers and density then anywhere else in Iceland, and only matched by 1 or 2 isolated locations in the world.
